Nokia - All you need to know about in 2017

Nokia, the name that can undoubtedly be considered as the unofficial synonym of cell phones is now back in the cell phone market. A brand that is not only the oldest in the smartphone realm being founded in 1865 in Finland as a paper mill, yeah it has its HQ in Finland not China like most of you thought of back in school days, but also happens to be the global leader in market share till early 2000 with a whopping 49.4% which is a unprecedented figure till date. So before I dig in deep to what Nokia is doing right now and what all models are rolling out or are about to roll out let's just take a look at this brand in retrospect.
Nokia in its early days and till its downfall starting in 2007 was famous for its reliability & stability. The brand made cell phones that were so robust that even today you can see it ruling the meme world! Jokes apart the fact that Nokia 3310, the black and white cell phone, sold 126 million units worldwide creating a World Record that is yet to be broken. The brand made its presence so strong that I'm sure half of the people reading this article right now owned a Nokia phone atleast once in their life time not to mention being their first ever cell phone! Now that I've given you a flashback and made sure the signature 'Nokia Tune' rings in loop at the back of your head with your fingers itching to play the legendary Snake game yet again let's proceed further and get back to the present.

The Rise of the Phoenix

After selling its Devices and Services division to Microsoft in 2014 as the company ran into huge losses due to its inability to adapt to the ever-growing market's demand Nokia is back with its new partner HMD Global. Their new, revamped and Android powered range of smartphones begins with the Nokia 6 which officially launched in China last month with its pre-registration crossing over 1 million units & hence it Sold Out within a minute's time!
As of now we don't have much information upon what the models will be that Nokia plans to launch in 2017 but below I'll be trying to join all the dots and bring you everything down in one piece so as to give you a glimpse into the future of this iconic brand. The Future is Now!

So this is what we know so far from Nokia and its upcoming smartphone range though phablets and tablets are on the card but news about them are more tilted towards a bunch of mumbo jumbos rather than solid facts! Nokia in 2016 even acquired health tech firm Withings and this is a solid indication that we can surely see some healthcare products including fitness bands to be rolling out aswell by the end of 2017 giving their whole portable device line-up a more wholesome appeal much like its top competitor Apple & Samsung! Nokia even talks about "expanded VR leadership" for 2017 so it won't be a daring guess that they'll be coming up with VR Headsets aswell to support their smartphone lineup thus being the second one so far to have dedicated VR Headsets for cell phones after Samsung.
But the best part is that our favorite Nokia is coming back and its official so most of you out there, including me, can re-live the old days when holding a Nokia in hand was more of a self satisfaction than a mere show off. As a ripple effect do expect some innovation from the top brands in terms of pricing as well as features so it'll be a win-win situation for us customers, Hurrey to that!
With that being said I'll leave you guys here with some information and a lot of nostalgia to feed your imaginations as to what this second inning from Nokia will hold for us.  One thing is certain, Nokia is coming back and its coming back with a bang!
